We’re looking for an IS Manager to join our team! In this role, you’ll ensure the streamlined operation of our Information Services Department in alignment with the business objectives of First Northern Bank. This individual will plan, coordinate, direct and design the IS-related activities of the organization, including systems analysis, applications programming or operating systems programming. Subordinate functions may include computer operations, data input, data control and scheduling, network administration, and PC Support. This role may have subordinate supervisors in charge of any or all these functions and will provide direction and support for daily operational activities of the IS department.
Responsibilities Include
- Responsible for ensuring all technology services duties are performed in compliance with internal procedures
- Maintain a cohesive, highly trained and motivated staff sufficient to meet daily needs of the areas of responsibility
- Maintain awareness of new technologies and recommend the best course of action to obtain strategic advantage without subjecting the Bank to any undue risk
- Stay informed on current trends affecting both the banking industry and the larger world of information technology as it applies to our industry, and ensure CIO and other Bank leadership are aware and informed of needs/possible threats
- Develop and prepare Business Analytics reports in response to data analysis and report requests.
- Safeguard information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems in collaboration with the ISO and CIO.
- Lead project teams in reviewing, assessing, making suggestions for changes/updates and planning implementation of new products or technologies
- Review updates and releases for core processing, digital banking and other key solutions to determine opportunities to implement changes and new processes that will enhance the customer experience, as well as provide efficiency to Bank staff
- Provide primary support for all vendor issues with core processing, digital banking and other key solutions.
- Strong and productive collaboration with business partners impacted by system changes or design
- Maintain close contact with vendors providing information technology solutions to the Bank
- Assist with management of financial aspects of the IS Department, including purchasing, budgeting and budget review
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IS spending and initiatives
- Implementation and development of all IS policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision
- Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer and consultant contracts and service for assigned areas
Operational Management
- Analyze and control all costs associated with the Bank’s technology, communications and information systems
- Assist the System Administrator in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrading and support of all IS systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software and peripherals
- Ensure the security and integrity of sensitive Bank and customer information
- Practice asset management for IS hardware, software, and equipment
- Manage IS staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions
- Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IS activities
- Comply with all applicable Banking compliance rules and regulations established by both internal departments and external agencies

Qualifications
- Four-year degree in Computer Science or demonstrated ability to perform required duties
- 5+ years of additional related experience
- Technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows Server, VMWare, VEAM, and Microsoft 0365 solutions
- Technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards
- Extensive application support experience with Fiserv Premier or comparable banking software
- Understanding of IS security principles
- Proven experience in IS infrastructure planning and development
- In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws

Pay Range (Salary): $116,00.00 - $125,00.00/year
